Every Little Kid's FearWhen the shadows hide  And on the porches, the illuminated jack-o-lanterns bide   
Everyone scrounges for suitable attire  Pure like water but cruel like fire   
In one certain home, for a spooky facade  A decision has long been made   
Fella recounts everything his victims will be in for  Starting with after he opens the door   
And as the first melodic note reaches his ear  He grabs the candy dish, ready to strike fear   
What the little kids first see makes them go numb  A curved, metallic hook letting out a steady hum

Fantasy in a Little Black Hat"Hurry up, Elk!" Lisa squealed as she followed Hailey up the path of a neighbor's house, swinging her treat bag in one hand and a plastic wand with shimmering paper wrapped around it in the other. My little sisters called me "Elk" instead of "Elkia" because they insisted that my long hair and eyes matched the creature's coat color perfectly, the way it appeared dark but also had a silvery shine. As for my skin, it had a pallor that was naturally accentuated in the moonlight. Anyway, as soon as I'd think of animals that exhibited the same tow-headedness and blue eyes as my sisters, I'd mock them with those names for life.

Tennis!

The funny thing about when you tryout for a sport is that when you mess up or do the wrong thing, the coach is always right there watching you, scribbling something on his/her clipboard. But when you play really well, the coach is always somewhere else and doesn't see it.
That's kinda what it felt like today, the first day of tennis tryouts.To make matters worse, the coach is so strict and cold, she makes me nervous. I really want to do well, but I also want to have fun and not think that I might be cut. Because if I think that way, it might very well happen. I think I play pretty well. Playing tennis makes me happy. It's one of my favorite sports. At least with this coach, we don't have to wait around for our turn to play against another person. Wish me luck!

aww thanks for the compliments. i forget, were you in my third grade class? Did I know you? No I haven't ever owned a pet other than my fish. And I'll have you know I'm only quiet when I have nothing to say or am trying to listen to someone or feel like it's not my place to talk.....ok I think that's it. Peace out. :peace:

Yup. Third grade. I remember. Um, we didn't really know each other WELL, but I knew who you were. Don't ask why I remember this: but I think you used to hang out with Julianna and Carmela on the carpet (playing cards, I think) during indoor recess. Not to sound creepy or anything, I just remember the most random of things while I forget what I was supposed to do for homework. Know what else I remember? You were the only one in the class who knew what "famished" meant when we were reading a fable...something with a tortise....Anyway, we were reviewing for an ELA, and some important reading teacher was there, and they were all impressed. Again, not to be creepy.
And you know what, that's actually a good thing that you don't talk when you've nothing to say, because some people feel the need to fill every waking moment with the sound of their own voice, and it makes them look ridiculus. So as I said, your quietness isn't a bad thing...I just couldn't think of anythng else...which is a good thing! :boogie:
